This is looking great - I definitely think it is Patterns and Trends now that I've read what you've done with it. If you're thinking of next steps, it would be useful to:
- flesh out how to teach the kids to infer/draw conclusions about patterns and trends by scaffolding this a bit - i.e. are there a set of standard steps or questions that someone could use when they are looking for patterns or trends? Do they start by collecting evidence and then comparing pieces of that evidence? Or do they start by putting their best guesses or gut instincts on the table and then testing those hypotheses? If we can come up with a standard way that geographers infer patterns and trends (maybe there's something useful in Teaching Geographic Thinking), then we can turn that series of steps or questions into a thinking strategy that they can use anytime they are thinking of patterns and trends. Does that make sense?
You might also want to check in that Investigating Images package for ideas. I'll think about this too and see what I can come up with.
I really like the idea of starting them off thinking about the ideal place for prom - we'll probably have to offer an alternate suggestion if they are using the challenge with younger kids but that's a minor issue.

Nicely done.
